PRAYER AND BIBLE BAND
Bishop Mason, (Our Founder) in 1911, with his keen insight that God had given him, saw that Mother Lizzie Robinson was an organizer able to inspire, and direct. In a short time she was chosen General Mother of Women, to organize and create such work as would be beneficial to the development of the church.
Finding two groups of women in the church, one group praying. the other group studying and teaching the Word, one known as the Prayer Band and the other the Bible Band, she COMBINED the two under the name of THE PRAYER AND BIBLE BAND. (produced A POWERFUL foundation of this "Grand Old Church of God in Christ.")
Is to train women to know their Bible that they may become more acquainted with the Word of God and help lead others to Christ and his righteousness. To Learn to use the power and Authority Christ has given to everyone to Pray without ceasing to become more than a conqueror, and a doer of God’s Word, which He said, “I have put My Words In Your Mouth” Isaiah 51:16. Our purpose for these Perilous Times is that we “Speak It” “Believe It” and “Declare It with POWER.” The Annual Prayer Summit Theme: “Maximizing Prayer Power Strategy To Tear Down Strongholds” with authority equipping Prayer Warriors for the future and growth of the Church of God in Christ.
The principal objective is that Christ be in the hearts of God's creation and the attitudes and testimonies as Saints Honor Christ. That the Prayer and Bible Band create effective ways to be the Spiritual source to benefit both the community and the Local Church. Putting into action the doctrine of the Bible and a continual lifestyle of Prayer and Fasting using our tools against the enemy with Authority, knowing that "No weapon formed against you shall prosper."
