CHRISTIAN WOMEN’S COUNCIL (CWC)
MISSION STATEMENT:
To serve as Beacon of Light to younger women, enabling them to establish and maintain Godly standards in church behavior, community relationships, home building, child development, self-improvement and, thus become soul winners.
THE ORIGIN OF THE CWC:
The Christian Women's Council was organized in November 1994 by Mother Emma Crouch, International Supervisor of the Women’s Department of the Church of God in Christ, Incorporated. Mother Crouch, a woman of vision, saw the need for change and expansion among the vast number of band, units, and auxiliaries that make up the Women’s Department. She saw the opportunity for the organization and development of an auxiliary designed to meet the needs of women who are the mature both spiritually and naturally: and to utilize the abilities of women (from the age of 50 and older) in a more effective way. Thus the birth of the Christian Women’s Council became a reality.
Many of these women who make up this unit are products of the Young Women' Christian Council. Realizing the level of development, we trust these women have gained the wisdom attained, the experiences had and the knowledge afforded hem through this training assures us that these women will be an asset to he church development at large and soul winners, ind1v1dually and collectively. The continual growth of the Church of God in Christ mandates the need for spiritually sound women who are prepared to work in educating others in the principles and practices of holiness and saintly living.
